CLACC Hosts Senior Holiday Luncheon

Updated: 4 hours ago

By Muriel Nelson

On December 5, the Clear Lake Area Community Center (CLACC) welcomed 63 people who braved the January-like cold to join together for a holiday-themed luncheon. As always, Joan Lillie and her crew prepared and served a tasty meal in the seasonally decorated Dining Room.

This is CLACC’s second Holiday Luncheon for area seniors and we look forward to many more holiday celebrations in future years.  Meantime, the luncheon organizers will meet soon to set the dates for 2025 luncheons.

We’ve already decided that there will be a Senior Luncheon on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Look for more information about the luncheon in early February.

On December 5, about a dozen participants stayed on to play Bingo. The game will always be scheduled after these luncheons. Bingo is also held on the second Tuesday of each month at 1 pm in the CLACC Dining Room. No reservations are required to play. The game is 100% payback with 50 cents per card and 50 cents per game.

CLACC thanks everyone who completed the questionnaire at the luncheon.  You have provided the center with some helpful information.  We may be contacting some of you after the holiday season, especially those who offered to volunteer.

As 2024 comes to a close, CLACC extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported the center and its activities. That includes everyone who attends the Senior Luncheons and the volunteers who lend a hand at these events. Thanks also to the area churches who have provided desserts for the meals. Senior Luncheons will continue to be events by and for our community.

See you in 2025.
