At the Center of Things

01

Divine Beauty

The Clear Lake Area Community Center, located in Clear Lake, Polk County, Wisconsin, serves a picturesque geographic area in northwestern Wisconsin. Clear Lake itself is a charming village surrounded by rolling hills, lush forests, farm fields and serene lakes.

Furthermore, our area attracts seasonal and weekend tourists from nearby cities, states, and even other countries who come to enjoy the recreational activities available here.

03

Natural Charm

This atmosphere offers abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation such as fishing, boating, hunting, hiking, biking, motorsports, snowmobiling and wildlife watching. Clear Lake is the starting point for a recreational trail situated on a former railroad track that passes through the village. It is also the birthplace of Major League Baseball Hall of Famer, Burleigh Grimes, and Senator Gaylord Nelson, founder of Earth Day.

02

Hope and Support

The Community Center supports a rural, low-income population that is aging faster than the national average. The Clear Lake area is situated at the corners of four counties: Polk, Barron, St. Croix, and Dunn. Two out of these four counties are either at or below the national poverty level, with 40% of Clear Lake students eligible for free or reduced lunch.

04

Social Connections

The residents of these rural areas do not always have the opportunities for social gatherings, educational programs, fitness classes, cultural events, and recreational activities such as those offered by our Center. The Community Center plays an essential role in filling that void by fostering a sense of community spirit and providing a space for residents to come together, connect, and engage in various enriching experiences.

Overall, the Clear Lake Area Community Center serves as a vital resource, enhancing the quality of life in this scenic part of northern Wisconsin.
