Our Tenants
The Clear Lake Area Community Center operates solely from our 63,000 square-foot building; a multi-story, former high school complex. In brief, we offer event space for short-term use and also have space available for long-term rentals.
Our unique location serves our community with space for diverse events – from a commercial kitchen and large dining room for our senior luncheons, veterans banquets, union meetings, and social gatherings such as birthday parties, family reunions, baby showers and anniversary celebrations, to the fire department’s fundraiser dinner, dance recitals, and community theater in the larger event center auditorium which is outfitted with a stage. Additionally, former classrooms have been upgraded to provide low-cost, long-term rentals for numerous local, start-up small business entrepreneurs, artists, craftsmen, and service organizations. The fitness center occupies the oldest gymnasium space that dates back to when the building was first built in 1922 while the gymnastics complex fills the newer gym area. Finally, the Old School Thrift Shop is a well-known stationary entity in our building which occupies the former agricultural studies suite.
In summary, the Community Center Board has endeavored to realize increasing functional space in this 102-year-old building for our tenants and the surrounding community.
