Senior Luncheon: Cheers to Spring!

Updated: May 24

CLACC Senior Luncheons

By Muriel Nelson

Thanks to everyone who attended the April 24 Spring Senior Luncheon at CLACC. About 60 people enjoyed visiting friends while dining on a delicious array of soups and salads prepared by Joan Lillie.

Since June is a busy time, especially with Clear Lake Heritage Day at the end of the month, our next luncheon will be earlier in June, specifically, on Thursday, June 12, starting at noon. We will have our Second Annual  Summertime “Grill Out – Eat In”. Once again, Grill Master Warren DeBoer will prepare hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill that will be served in the CLACC Dining Room along with picnic-themed sides.

Please call your reservation to the community center office at 715-263-2233 by Friday, June 5. It’s very helpful if you let CLACC know you will be coming.

Representatives from the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Northwest Wisconsin (ADRC) will also be attending the luncheon and will have information about the Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program (FMNP). This is a voucher program that gives Polk and Burnett County Seniors the opportunity to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables and herbs from certified farmers.

Each eligible individual receives $25 worth of vouchers/coupons that can be used June 1-October 31, 2025, at any participating farmers’ market vendor or roadside stand throughout the state of Wisconsin. The voucher/coupon books contain 5 vouchers that are worth $5 each.

Vouchers are available to seniors age 60 and older (age 55 and older for Native Americans) with a monthly income at or below $2,413 for a household of 1, $3261 for a household of 2, or $4,109 for a household of 3.

If you cannot make it on June 12, please call ADRC of NWWI AT 877-485-2372 for voucher availability.

Bingo

Bingo continues to be scheduled following the Senior Luncheons, in addition to the second Tuesday of the month at 1 pm, also in the CLACC Dining Room. The game is 100% payback with 50 cents per game and 50 cents per card.

Remember, even if you are not a ‘senior’, you are welcome to join us for the luncheon and Bingo too.
