Local Seniors Enjoy CLACC Senior Luncheon on August 28

Your local community center, the Clear Lake Area Community Center, hosted a Senior Luncheon on August 28 for approximately 75 people. Everyone enjoyed Humpy Danielson’s grilled chicken prepared with his secret seasonings. Not to be overlooked were the delicious sides and dessert made by Joan Lillie.

Following lunch, the Elder Benefit Specialist from Polk County Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) presented helpful information on Medicare in a “Medicare Mingle/Benefits Check”.  She also met privately with anyone who needed additional assistance.

As usual, several diners stayed on for a game of Bingo.

Please plan on attending the final two Senior Luncheons of 2025.  The next one on the schedule is October 23 with an Oktoberfest theme (sorry, no beer but there will be brats and other good food). Look for additional information about the Oktoberfest event in the next Chronicle. Also mark your calendar for the Holiday Luncheon on December 4.

Bingo continues to be held on the second Thursday of the month at 1 pm in the community center Dining Room as well as after the Senior Luncheons. Tuesday games are scheduled for October 14, November 11 and December 9.  These Bingo games are 100% payback.
